DAY 1: EXPLORERS ACTIVITY 1: SETTING SAIL

DAY 1: EXPLORERS

ACTIVITY 1: SETTING SAIL

This activity is about how people navigate around the world. In the past, people used the sun, stars & the ocean to navigate but now in our days we use GPS. For this activity, I have to list of 10 food items that I would bring as I could take with me. But I have to remember that there is no access to a refrigerator or freezer while I’m on the sea.

My List of 10 food
1 & 2- Apples & oranges
3-Dried beans.
4-Peanuts
5-Onions.
6-Beef jerky
7 & 8-Dried fruit & canned coconut milk
9 & 10-Dried paste & honey

Why I would bring these items?
Dried fruit can last for a long period same with canned coconut milk. Beef jerky can also last a long period. It is also me of my favourite foods. Onions can Shelf live till 1 or 2 months. Onions may be gross to eat raw so that’s why you cook it before leaving. Peanuts are healthy & can last 2-5 weeks. Also of you properly package dried beans they can last for up to 30 years. I would bring Apples & oranges because it doesn’t tend to rot quickly & it has vitamin C & it is very healthy & lastly dried paste can also last a long time

White Sunday.

White Sunday
Intro- Have you ever heard about White Sunday? In 4 days, including today, it will be white Sunday. A day where kids wear white from head to toe. It is well known as Lotu Tamaiti or Children's Worship. White Sunday is all about the children.

Paragraph 1- Tradition
Through that past as well as the present White Sunday is a well-known tradition Samoa & many other people do. It will be on Sunday, 6 of October in NZ & as for Samoa, it will be on Sunday, 13 of October. As it says in the name “White Sunday” kids will need to wear White clothing, shoes, socks & accessory.

Paragraph 2 - (items)
Items are very important on the day. You dance, sing, do a skit (acting) & a memorial version from the Bible. When doing an item it will always start from the youngest to the oldest classes. Each class has to be able to do a performance & learn their memorial version.

Paragraph 3 - (food)

Do you know what food we eat on white Sunday? At the end of the church service, there is always a prepared meal that has been handmade from each family. For us Samoans, we eat mashed potato, Chicken, salad (got to keep healthy), fries, pork, lamb & many more delicious cooked meals.

Conclusion- In-conclusion White Sunday is all about the kids. It is an annual tradition that will be on this Sunday.

CO-ED school?

CO-ED school?
Intro- What do you feel about having your children go to a co-ed
school? Having your son/daughter socialise with boys or girls can
affect your daughter/son learning. Have you ever been to a co-ed
school? This essay will be against Co-ed schools.

Topic sentence
When students socialise  with each other it can affect their learning.
Your child gets distracted by boys/girls sometimes they are insecure
of what they look like or what they wear. Girls put on makeup, boys act
cool. They have different attitude.

Paragraph 1-(Different)
Your daughter/son can have different attitude when boys or girls are
around. For example when girls are with their friends they act normal
until boys come along & they change their attitude. This may happen
during school or after school but it will affect their learning.

Paragraph 2-(Bullying)
Co-ed schools have problems especially when it comes to bullying.
Boys bully girls because they want to, but the girls have different
perspective of bullying each other. Girls bully girls because they get
bullied by the boys they acted to impress the boys.

Paragraph 3-(The effects on their Learning)
Student who are your children get awful grades that’s because they
get distracted & one way they get distracted by boys/girls. Explame-
Boys get distracted by how a girl looks. They are so focused on trying
to impress her that he losing focused on his learning.

affect your child's education do you? Your child's education depends
on it.
