Activity 2:The right to votes

Of the turn of the century ,New Zealand elected its first Government.Richard John Seddon served leader of the Liberal party from 1893-1906.Prior to 1839,only one men was allow to vote .But This all change in 1800s when a Women called Kate Kate Sheppard lead to a suffragist movement in New Zealand calling for a change in the law.Her amazing work finally paid off when a the Electoral Act was passed in the law on 19th September 1893, Women has the right to vote.New Zealand First to give all women the right. There are still countries around the world (e.g. Saudi Arabia) who,But recently, women were not allow to vote anymore.

What I think about Saudi Arabia women not allowing to vote
The fact that women that lived in Saudi Arabia couldn't vote is so unfair.Women should also be allow to vote.It is so bad for Women to not vote and men could vote. But when it came to 2015 women was allow to vote again. Now women are free to vote for any elections now and that is amazing.

  1. Kia Ora Tehillah,

Cadence here from the Summer Learning Journey team!

I like your opening statement. “The fact that women lived in Saudi Arabia couldn’t vote is so unfair”. I agree completely! It’s so nice to read such a passionate opening sentence to your post. Could you tell me a little bit more? Maybe you could consider why women were not allowed to vote?
And, what do you think you would feel in 2015 being given the right as a woman finally?

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Best wishes,

    Cadence :)
