It is unbelievable to know that the first people to ever
stand on New Zealand came from Polynesia.Most historians believe that they first landed in New Zealand about 700 years ago.Although they were all originally from many different countries,these settlers learned to live together and there eventually, formed their own distinct culture known as Maori.Maori have their own language, traditions, and culture.
Follow this link so you could read more about this short story about a famous man in Māori mythology – Maui. On your blog, please post three facts you and what you have learned about this interesting man. What other stories have you heard about Maui?

ReplyDeleteIt is great to see that you have spent time exploring the history of New Zealand. We have had settlers arrive in the country from all over the South Pacific (and beyond). In fact, I arrived in New Zealand about seven years ago from Canada and have loved living here. I can't imagine ever moving back to Ontario. New Zealand has become my new home.
